During the First World War more than a million Indian soldiers were deployed as part of the Allied war efforts, and 74,000 gave their lives over the course of the conflict. A temporary exhibition developed by Gateways to the First World War is on display at Gunnersbury Park Café from 31st July to 27th August 2015 .
Gunnersbury Park Museum is dedicated to curating and telling the stories of the people of Hounslow and Ealing. They are hosting this exhibition as part of their commemoration of the centenary of the First World War, which will be of particular interest to their diverse communities.
Adam Prime of the University of Leicester will be giving a public lecture on the exhibit on Monday 17th August 2015 at 7pm, at Gunnersbury Park Café. The event is free, and all are welcome to attend.
