A study day investigating alternative forms of service during the First World War, with focus on the activities of the Society of Friends, YMCA, Women's Land Army, nurses and chaplains.

Speakers include Dr Emma Hanna (University of Greenwich), Dr Michael Snape (University of Birmingham), Dr Nicola Verdon (Sheffield Hallam University) and Dr Rebecca Wynter (University of Birmingham). Meet staff from the Heritage Lottery Fund and Historypin and get ideas for developing your own centenary projects.
