On Saturday 23rd March, our colleagues Oli Prior and Lee Thompson from Kent Sport will be representing the University of Kent in a sponsored cycle ride from the Canterbury campus to the Menin Gate Memorial in Ypres, Belgium. The Peace Ride is part of a twinning process between the University of Kent football pitches and the 'Peace Pitch' in Belgium.
Oli and Lee will lay a poppy football at the Menin Gate Memorial at the 8pm Last Post ceremony.
The Peace Ride aims to raise awareness and funds for the National Children's Football Alliance and their unique Slum Soccer project in India which facilitates access to football and other essential provisions for children and families for whom poverty is an everyday challenge.
To support Lee and Oli please visit their crowdfunding page at https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/oli-prior. All funds raised will contribute to giving children the opportunity to participate in the 2019 Global Peace Games and kick a football in hope of a better life.
