A screening of the World War One drama based on the best-selling memoirs of British writer and anti-war campaigner Vera Brittain.
This film will be introducted by Dr Chris Kempshall, who has taught on the First World War, European history and warfare at the University of Sussex, University of Kent, and University of Brighton.
He is also the Project Officer for First World War Commemorations with East Sussex County Council. His recent book The First World War in Computer Games (Palgrave Pivot 2015) examines the representation of the conflict in the modern media. He is also the author of the forthcoming book British, French and American Relations on the Western Front, 1914-1918 (Palgrave Macmillan) and is a member of the Academic Advisory Board to the Imperial War Museum.
